I am working as a Video Editor and videographer at Drik Audio Visual, Dhaka. In 2006, I spent a year in India for a professional skill-sharing exchange program organized by Fredskorpset, and my main area of interest is journalism. I walked into photography with a periodical published from Norway in 1998. A fixed-focused camera was my first tool in photography. “A childish and curious expression in people's faces” was what attracted me to advance in the photographic world. I learned photography from renowned photographer Dr. Shahidul Alam of Drik in 1996 and now work as a freelance photographer. I did a photo story on "Disabilities" in Bangladesh. I am also a Panos media fellow. I had completed the project 'Rickshaw Eviction: Bangladesh” as a part of the fellowship.
I am Rabeya Sarkar Rima. I am a Photographer and Videographer. Now, I am working with Drik Audio Visual Department as an Executive. I received 2nd prize in a UNICEF photography contest on violence against women in 1996. I am studying for my BA Honors on Photography in South Asian Institute of Photography at Pathshala. I enjoy working hard, and I aim to be a filmmaker in the future.
